We have committed by REFUGE.INFO GREECE to design this year’s City guide for  asylum-seekers, refugees and stateless people for Athens and Thessaloniki. Two catalogues for two cities with information for refugees in nine languages (Greek, English, French, Somali, Turkish, Ukrainian, Arabic, Farsi and Urdu).

The production of these 2 catalogues – guides was made possible in partnership with TripAdvisor Foundation. The creation of the 2023-2024 edition of the Athens & Thessaloniki Guide has been a collaborative project between UNHCR Greece, Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee issues (ACCMR) and Refugee.Info Greece (International Rescue Committee Hellas).

The first part of the design had to do with the multilanguage format. We need to create a layout that could actually work having at every page information separated in nine languages. Latin paragraph styles and typography had to be combined with Arabic and Cyrilic. The second part had to do with a color palette we have created and finally applied for each language. This way, readers of the Guide could easily search and find the information they need, each time with the same color,  at the same position of the layout in every page.
